Product Name
Ruminant Early Pregnancy Rapid Test
Intended Use
The purpose of this test kit is to find out the open ruminant animal at 28 days after fertilization . Accurate and timely pregnancy testing of ruminants (such as cattle, goats, sheep, etc.) is a crucial aspect of modern herd reproduction
management programs . By conducting early pregnancy test on ruminants, veterinarians and farm staff can identify non-
pregnant individuals and promptly rebreed them, thereby shortening the calving interval and maximizing farm
productivity and profitability. This product utilizes the principle of double-antibody sandwich method and colloidal
gold chromatography detection . It can accurately detect pregnancy in dairy cows as early as 28 days post-breeding and
is suitable for cows over 85days postpartum. The product can also be used to test goat and sheep samples, with respective applicable times of 28 days and 35 days post-breeding, providing veterinarians and farm staff with an essential tool for detecting pregnant animals.
Principle
Early pregnancy detection in ruminants is suitable for whole blood (EDTA), serum or plasma samples(EDTA) . After adding the sample, the analyte in the sample binds with the gold-labeled antibody to form a complex. During
chromatography, the complex is captured by the antibody fixed on the T line and presents a red band at the T line
position. The higher the analyte content in the sample, the deeper the band color. If the sample does not contain the
analyte, no red band appears at the T line position. Regardless of the presence of the analyte, the control line (C) should always show a red band; otherwise, the test is invalid.
Test Kit Components
1. 25×1 test/bag (sample pipette included)
2. sample diluent: 1 ×3ml/bottle
3. 1 × instruction for use
Test Procedure
1. Notice: Please carefully read the instructions before testing.
All samples and test cassettes must be at 15-35°C (59-95°F) before beginning the test procedure. The test should be conducted at room temperature.
2. Sample prepare
· Whole Blood: Blood should be collected in tubes containing EDTA and mixed well by slowly inverting tube 10 times immediately after sample draw.
Short Term Only: Whole blood (EDTA) can be stored for up to 48 hours at 2-8 °C(35.6-46.4 °F). Blood cannot be allowed to freeze or partially freeze as this may compromise test results.
· Serum/Plasma:After collecting the blood , use centrifuge to get serum/plasma (place in a centrifuge at 2000~3000
rpm/min,centrifuge for 5~ 15mins), or let the whole blood to set upright until serum separates. Short Term: Serum and plasma can be stored at 2-8 °C (35.6-46 .4 °F) for up to 7 days.
3. Testing Procedure:
a.) Tear open the foil pouch along the notch and take out the test cassette .
b.) Place the test cassette on a clean flat surface. Making sure it remains horizontal during the entire procedure to ensure accurate results. Write sample ID or stick ID label on the test cassette.
c.) Use a pipette to add 2 drops (approx . 50µL) of whole blood, serum or plasma to the sample well of the test cassette .
d.) Then add 2 drops (approx. 50µL) of sample diluent to the sample well.
e. ) Start a timer for 20 minutes.
f. ) If the T line (test line) and C line (control line) appear within 20 minutes in the observation area, it indicates pregnancy, and the test is complete. If no lines appear in the observation area, wait an additional 5 to 10 minutes. Results shown after 50 minutes are considered invalid.
Note: As long as the T line is visible, whether faint or weak, it is considered an indication ofpregnancy.
Test Interpretation
·Positive: Both the T line (test line) and C line (control line) show color bands, indicating pregnancy. ·Negative: Only the C line (control line) shows a color band, indicating no pregnancy.
·Invalid: No color band appears at the C line (control line), regardless of whether the T line (test line) shows a color band, the test is invalid.
Warnings and Precaution
1. This product is intended solely for early pregnancy detection in ruminants and is not for use in diagnosing animal diseases.
2. Miscarriage or stillbirth can lead to false-positive test results. Poor nutrition during pregnancy, mycotoxins in feed, illness, and collisions are factors that can increase the risk of miscarriage or stillbirth.
3. The accuracy of the test depends on the collection and preservation of the sample. Improper collection, poor storage, stale or contaminated samples can affect the results.
4 . If the test line T is not obvious, it is recommended to retest after 7-10 days.
5. This product is for single use only. Do not reuse.
6. Check the integrity and expiration date of the test kit packaging before use. If stored at low temperatures, allow the package to return to room temperature before opening.Do not use the test cassette if foil pouch is punctured or
improperly sealed.
7. Perform the test as soon as possible after removing the test cassette from the foil pouch to avoid moisture exposure from prolonged air contact.
8. Do not expose the test cassette to strong light before or during testing. Do not perform assay in direct sunlight.
9. The optimal testing conditions are a temperature of 15-35ºC (59-95°F) . Dispose of used test cassettes properly, do not discard them carelessly.
10. The foil pouch contains a desiccant which is not for ingestion .
11. If neither the T line nor the C line show color bands, the test is invalid and should be repeated.
12. Once the aluminum foil pouch is opened, the test cassette should be used within 1 hour.
Storage Conditions and Shelf life
· Stroage: Store at 2-30°C (35.6-86°F) . Do not freeze. Keep away from direct sunlight, moisture, and heat. · Shelf life :24 months.
